Officials on the Bighorn National forest plan controlled fire activity next week.

Marvin Matthiesen is the District Fire Management Officer on the Bighorns. He says black lining will be performed Monday and last possibly into to Tuesday.

Black lining is when fire crews create a fire line around an area that is scheduled for a controlled burn. Once extinguished, black lines are left in the landscape.

Mill Creek Unit Number Three will be working above Hyattville.

The smoke should not be heavy but may still be visible from lower elevations.
