Work on a new Aquatic Center located at 2250 Howell Avenue in Worland is continuing to make some headway. A groundbreaking ceremony for the new facility occurred on Monday July 18th of last year and the project began sometime at the end of July. On January 26th, the Park County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of felony vandalism and arson that occurred to an oil well and tank battery on BLM land in the McCullough Peaks south of Powell. February 1, 2012 - On Monday, Sen. John Hoeven (R-N.D.), along with 44 co-sponsors, introduced a bill ( S 2041) that would grant Congress the authority to approve the Keystone pipeline. President Obama has already said no to granting approval for the construction project, an outcome accelerated by language in the pay-roll tax law that required Obama to make a decision by late February.
